Tonight, however, I decided to paint my nails. I had recently seen on pinterest a "hack" that uses elmer's glue. They suggest that you put glue on your finger around the nail. After that dries, you paint your nails as normal (or in my case, abnormal...ha!). After your nails dry, you peel the glue off your fingers, and any misplaced nail polish peels off with the glue.
It seemed easy enough, so I figured I'd try it. Here is my LEFT hand after glueing, painting, and peeling the glue:
In my opinion, not bad! I could actually use this strategy if my efforts always turned out this well...
After I finished my left hand, I was a bit concerned that I'd mess up my right hand. I was determined, however, to "prove myself wrong" after the results on my left hand.
Here is my RIGHT hand after glueing, painting, and peeling the glue:
Have you tried any makeup, hair, nail techniques or tips out that you've found on pinterest? I'd love to hear how it worked out for you!
Looks good! I love that color! I've gotten real into Jamberry nail wraps... They're heat-activated "stickers" that you put on your nails and it looks like nail polish. My friend, Marie, (she went to APU but was a business major, not sure if you knew her) now sells them. They're really cool. I like them because they don't smell like nail polish (I HATE the smell of nail polish) and they last for 2 weeks without chipping. You can find more info here on her fb page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1435470133416941/
ReplyDeleteMy biggest struggle with Jamberry is that I don't have a lot of extra money to spend right now. I love the idea, but for now...if I want my nails done, I have to resort to pulling out old nailpolish from my cupboard!
DeleteYeah I feel ya. I agree it's a bit expensive. I hosted a party and got a ton for free and cheap.
Deleteanother trick is to paint your RIGHT hand first instead of your left. You know, do the hard side first. :) but cool to see the glue trick works as well!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'll have to try that next time!
